My Thumb is Turning Green

I have to say that this year I am pretty darn proud of the way my flower bed turned out!   Asking questions and reading up on how to care for my garden has really paid off.  As I walk up to my front door there is lots of beautiful emerald green folaige and the flowers are blooming like crazy!

Cone Flowers

My Favorite flowers are the cone flowers planted next to my front porch. I cut a few for a small bouquet and found out the next day how unhappy they were.

Pop Fountain

There's great fun at the Pearl Street Mall for kids and adults at the Pop Fountain. This one little toddler got a big surprise and loved it.  One splash was all it took and he kept wondering around looking for the next splash of cold water! On a hot day, what a relief.

Bowl of Bottle Caps

Jeff is collecting bottle caps from all the beer he drinks. He has a plan for them, maybe a cool table top or a mural of Starry Night, what ever it is he gave me strict orders, "DO NOT TOUCH!" I won't be making that stepping stone for my garden.

He used to collect beer bottles and at one point I had the idea of making a bottle house in the corner of the backyard to use for a shed, but he stopped with the bottles. It was taking up a lot of room and we had no where to put them.

Here is the start of something crafty and creative. Cheers!

365 Day Challenge

My last attempt kind of fizzled out and I was dissapointed that I could not even pick up the camera and simply press the button.  My friend Gina has recently taken on the 365 Day Challenge and has invited me to join her. I could not resist. She and her beautiful family moved recently and this is a great way to stay connected.

Is there really a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Last night I went out back and there it was, a Rainbow!  I called for Jeff to come and look. He brought his glass of beer with him with the idea of pouring himself a glass of gold.  When I downloaded the photos this one really stood out. I love the words that are on the glass and would like to add to that...   Jeff's American Dream!
